- rey-yan comment "Rey Yan is the main character of the series. His past is mysterious and full of heartache. He wields the Pasa sword which has a similarly mysterious a past. His true sister disappeared long ago and now he travels with Shyao, a girl he both pictures as his older sister and his one true love, though he's never going to admit it. Rey is hot tempered and hard to reason with, and though his skills are extraordinary, he has a long way to go. His combat skills are raw and heavily dependent on his sword. Inside him is the power of Ban-Go (Pan-Gu), the progenitor god of the universe, and is partly unleashed during the battle with the Sorcerer King, Rey Yan does not have complete control of him. As such he can be defeated by a heavenly god with more control of their powers".

She had been awakened to masochistic tendencies due to Noriko, and had repeatedly made attempts to make her angry. She is very possessive of Noriko and gets jealous easily, being hostile even to her friends. She is a fifth grader and is a classmate of Mikan who she initially antagonized. In school, she is shown to be extremely shy and clings to Mikan a lot, later becoming best friends with her. It is hinted that Rhianna is not a normal human. Some of the perplexing things that surrounded her includes her magic book written in an indecipherable language, a tag that made an immovable mailbox vanish, a capsule that made her fluent in Japanese, and the tricks she performed that Noriko wasn't able to comprehend. It is later revealed in the final volume of the manga that Rhianna is the daughter of Marquis Alkanet, the greatest wizard of their home country. She is also a descendant of Sorceress Alkanet, one of the Three Great Wizards who created the Great Barrier magic, magic that controls a barrier that protects their country, and thus has a duty to perform it and keep the barrier. Despite the tricks she was able to perform, it is revealed that Rhiana can't use magic yet, something that needs to be hidden from public, and is sent to the human world to study. After finding the location of the other magical family who can perform the Great Barrier magic, her father decided to make her marry into it. It is then revealed in the penultimate chapter that Noriko is from the said family, and the two are then engaged. ".

Richard's mother saw him as a monster and despised him. Leaving him to be loved by his father, who was oblivious to his wife's hatred. Richard himself is a tormented child, fearing abandonment and suffering from strange visions of Joan of Arc, who tells him that he is a demon to be feared. Richard grew up beneath his older brothers skill and expectations. Often training to make up for his fragility. Despite his weakness, he was treated as a part of the family by the others excluding his mother. Due to his mother's neglect, Richard grew up with a deep love and longing to be by his father's side. He wishes to become greater through his training while he waits for his father to become king.".

In his past, he was beaten by David Eagle and has longed for a rematch. Bison grew up in downtown Detroit and started boxing as a way to protect himself. He later found out that he could beat anybody and started his way to the top until he met David Eagle who beat him for the first time. He lost to Eagle a second time for the Olympic Qualifiers and had to watch the Olympics from home, watching Eagle become a champion. After Eagle turned Pro, Bison felt that he was getting too far away from him and also turned to Pro, in hopes of having a rematch with Eagle. Unfortunately Takamura beat Eagle who had to retire, taking his chances of vengeance away from him. So in turn, Bison wants to get vengeance on Takamura who he refers to a 'thief' from taking his 'treasure' away from him. Richard is a strong and powerful boxer who is another character in the series who uses the Hitman style, also known as the Detroit style, an offensive fighting style that involves using Flicker Jabs, having also been known to have an "Old School Hitman style." When Emil goes to thank him for scaring off some bullies, Richter reveals his hatred for cowards, but also gives a mantra of inspiration to Emil: "Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality". While Richter is tutoring Emil, he also admits that he is very short toward people, but that it does not mean he has something against them. He also remarks that he has no intention of changing his methods of doing things. Even before the events of the original Tales of Symphonia, Richter lived in Tethe'alla as a researcher at the Sybak University, where he and his friend Aster were researching Ratatosk. Together they were in charge of looking into Ratatosk's mana; however, due to a previous betrayal by Mithos' group, the spirit's trust had disappeared. Ratatosk grew angry and killed Aster in rage, and a vengeful Richter cut down Ratatosk and reduced him to his core form, which was taken away by Tenebrae before Ritcher could finish him off. Since then, Richter has held resentment towards Ratatosk and founded the Vanguard to search for the Centurions' cores. (Source: Wikipedia)".

When Riddle fights, he does a "funeral" for an evil spirits that eats souls. When he does it, he's saying: "I will play the funeral march that's right for you" and "My condolences". He made a contract with Hayato because he possess the Twilight Key. Riddle wants him to become the King of the Catacombs and protected Hayato in secret since he was a little baby, long before they even met. He said "I couldn't let those spirits kill the future King before my very eyes.". When Hayato was a small child, not that many spirits tried to attack him and Riddle could deal with them alone. But when Hayato grew up, the Key's power had probably reached its peak, so Riddle came to Hayato on his seventeenth birthday and decided that if he couldn't protect him alone no more, it would be safer for Riddle to make a contract with Hayato and make sure that he learnt the skills to fight as an Undertaker.
