- hyakujuu-ou-golion-21 comment "This one starts with Princess Romelle of Pollux being tossed into a dungeon cell on Doom by Prince Lotor. Due to her resemblance to her cousin Allura, Lotor figures he might as well live vicariously through her and snag a smooch. Of course, he is seriously denied when she sends him packing with a hefty slap to the face. She even tries to stab him with a sharp rock. Poor Lotor, he gets no respect.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-22 comment "Seedlings flutter down from the sky to Arus, leaving beautiful and fragrant blooms. Arusians frolick in the fields of flowers and even Allura dances about with some blossoms the space mice brought her.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-23 comment "On Doom, Lotor is training a menacing new Robeast by having it attack creatures that resemble the Voltron Lions. While back on Arus, the Voltron Force follows up their own rigorous training exercise with a relaxing dip in the lake (This is also where the famous Allura-loses-her-bikini-top scene is located heh heh). Coran and Nanny promptly charge outside and end their fun but not without giving the Princess a lecture about how un-royal it is of her to prance about with barely a stitch of clothing on. Furthermore, they declare she should be doing something more appropriate to her station - like studying.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-24 comment "Beastly looking mice (that look more like rats) are in the Castle of Lions wreaking havoc - things are exploding, catching on fire...you name it. After some investigating with the Castle scanners, it's determined that the pests are holed up in the room where most if not all of the Castle's circuitry to its computer controls are located. The men of the Voltron Force head that way to investigate only to end up getting in an exchange of laser fire with the beasts (the alien mice can shoot red beams out of their eyes - scary!).".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-25 comment "Lotor is daydreaming of Allura once again when Zarkon summons him. Planet Moura has been captured and it's time to have a little arena fun with some slaves. Zarkon also has a new toy he wants Lotor to tend to - it's an Ion Laser Gun that will be powerful enough to obliterate Arus when finished. Meanwhile, Voltron is lurking in an asteroid belt so the VF can keep tabs on the activity on Moura, as well as observe Zarkon's other new toy - the Centipede Express. Upon deciding reconnosence is in order, Keith and Lance use Green Lion's head to fly down to the planet's surface. Armed with explosives, they aim to strategically place them around the giant Ion gun in hopes of destroying it. By knocking out a few Doomite guards, they score the perfect disguises to proceed in.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-26 comment "The gist of this one is implied pretty well by the title - Zarkon and Co. send an invisible Robeast to Arus to take care of the Voltron Force. Coming back in a carriage after a day of picking fruit, Allura, Nanny, Lance and Pidge and some space mice are caught offguard when the invisible Robeast attacks. It overturns their carriage into a nearby lake - luckily, all are able to escape a watery fate. But before Allura can climb out of the lake, the Robeast picks her up and carries her away. After a few well placed laser blasts from Pidge's pistol, the Robeast drops Allura. However, it's not done with them. Hiding near a bluff, they're shocked to find a bolder the Robeast threw barreling toward them. Fortunately, the others at the Castle caught an inkling of what was going on and so the boulder harmlessly ends its journey on the back of Black Lion.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-27 comment "In this installment, Lotor travels to another planet and decides to capture a grieving female Medusan called Anga. She spends some time in the Arena on Doom and the royals are pleased by what they see: when Anga gets angry, she gets tough (just like the story of Medusa, her hair becomes serpants and her glance turns things to stone). Lotor and the old witch think Anga would make a fine Robeast.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-28 comment "To celebrate his birthday, Lotor takes a trip to planet Tyrus. While getting a massage from scantly clad servants, Zarkon informs Lotor that he sent a ship with a present for Lotor ( a big gold statue of the Prince, to be exact). However, the ship ran into some trouble on its way to Tyrus and as luck would have it, the Voltron Force picked up the S.O.S.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-29 comment "This one has that amusing sequence where the Voltron Force is honing their hand-to-hand combat skills and Allura lays the smackdown on Lance. Depsite how tough she is, Allura's still no match for Nanny's and Coran's combined anal retention. In yet another instance of same-ish plot recycling, Allura is hauled off to do more Princess-worthy activities.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-3 comment "Angered by Yurak's failures, Zarkon tasks his evil witch Haggar to send a robeast to Planet Arus, in hopes of capturing the five space explorers who escaped him and destroy what was left of any hopes to resurrect Voltron. Haggar sends her best robeast to Arus. On Arus, the newly formed Voltron Force watches helplessly as Yuraks forces attack Arus, while Coran reluctantly keeps the secret of the Lion ships to himself. Pidge decides to head out by himself to see exactly how near Yurak's forces are getting to the castle. Coran then reveals that the only way to activate the slumbering machines, is to locate the 5 mystic keys that can operate them. To Allura's surprise, he tells them that the keys were entombed with her father, the late King Alfor. Together, the members along with the Princess, make their way to the where King Alfor is entombed, and upon etnering the crypt, King Alfor's ghost makes his presence known to them. He shares with them his appreciation that five young strangers are willing to devote their lives to the protection of Arus. Unfortunately, to their dismay, only four keys are found with King Alfor, meaning that Voltron can't be formed, since the key to the Black Lion is missing. Reluctantly, the team take the four lions ships; Blue, Red, Yellow and Green , hoping to thwart the forces of Yurak. They are able to take out the many robot fighter ships and troops, but when Haggar's robeast finally lands on the planet, they soon realize that they are not prepared to handle a fight of this magnitude. Coran and the Princess watch in horror, as their new friends were easily defeated by the meanacing robeast. ".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-30 comment "Zarkon has decided it's time for Lotor to take a suitor and presents him with Princess Koral from Demos. He kisses her (a taste test?), and while she's attractive enough, Lotor just can't shake his dream of having Allura all to himself.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-31 comment "While Haggar works on her latest Robeast, Zarkon and Lotor are settling a 'difference of opinions' (haha) by having Lotor destroy a few beasts in the Arena. Once Lotor easily disposes of the beasts, he challenges his father to a duel. Things seem to go well for the Prince until he realizes his father got in a much better blow than he did (Lotor's helmet splits and his head bleeds while Zarkon merely suffers damage to his cape thingie - oh and did anyone else catch this animation error? When Lotor charges at his father he lacks a helmet, but as he gets closer to strike suddenly the helmet is on. wtf?). What the Doomite royalty will stoop to for power!".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-32 comment "This is a sequel to the previous episode. Both sides it seems are licking their wounds, so to speak, and preparing to do better next time. Princess is nursing her shoulder injury and worried about her Lion, when her father appears on the Castle monitor to impart some wisdom. He tells her and the rest of the team that the Lions are like 5 parts of a stream flowing into a river.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-33 comment "The opening scene here is classic. Zarkon is drinking a glass of wine but decides to hurl the goblet at Lotor, which cracks him squarely in the forehead. The reason for violence? Zarkon is disgusted at his son's efforts to take over Arus. When Lotor whines about Voltron always mucking up his plans, Zarkon advises him to find a weakness in Voltron's armor. Enter Haggar with her latest Robeast which is designed to fight best underwater - where Voltron is weakest. When Lotor wonders how they'll trick Voltron into fighting in water, Haggar produces a tank of 'mini-robeasts' that resemble tadpoles.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-34 comment "A storm brews on Arus. Pidge, while trying to round up townsfolk to take shelter, gets in a scuffle with a young boy over a rabbit Pidge claims the boy looted to eat. When the boy claims he found it in a trap, Pidge really thinks him a liar as he knows traps are against the law on Arus. The boy runs into the woods and Pidge pursues - only to get his foot caught in a trap.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-35 comment "The Voltron Force men are busy using a huge earth mover to help construct a new stadium where the Space Olympics are to be held on Arus. A few local children are hanging out with them while they work. An amusing scene ensues when the Princess and Nanny burst into the barracks-type lodgings the boys share while Keith is showering.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-36 comment "Zarkon kicks off the episode by berating Lotor for his failures while all but calling him a coward for sending robots into battle where he should be leading. Lotor promises to deliver a plan that doesn't involve robots and then leaves to consult with Haggar. She took a culture from the Prince and together with her magic, has created a clone of Lotor to lead the troops. Appearance-wise, the clone is an exact duplicate but Haggar claims he'll have twice the strength and unafraid. Basically, the clone with do the dirty work while the real Lotor will get all the glory. After testing the clone's skill on two unsuspecting robot Doomites in the arena, they're off to Arus.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-37 comment "Lotor, Zarkon and Morgill are watching some of the up and coming pilots in the Academy practice when a stand-out performance from one catches their eye. The pilot, Carp, does a bold fly-by at the trio before landing. Morgill wants to kill him for his wreckless endagerment of the King, but Lotor sees the potential in his skill as a pilot and has him spared after Zarkon seconds that notion. Carp is willing to pilot a robeast for Doom but insists it be built to his specs and, when he defeats Voltron, demands to be made Governor General of Arus. Morgill has never been more infuriated but must hold his tongue and his sword.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-38 comment "Instead of your typical Robeast, this time Haggar and Lotor have cooked up an elite fighting force of robots they call the Red Berets. Even Zarkon is impressed with their fighting style when he sees them in action at the Arena. The force of about 5 Berets is launched to Arus with a Robeast overnight.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-39 comment "Haggar tells Zarkon the story of the Omega Comet, which is mysterious in that it behaves like a black hole by sucking everything it passes up with its massive gravitational pull. Voltron at one time had stashed the comet away into a far corner of the universe where nobody could find it - until now. With Romelle on deck to witness it, the Doomies send the coment on a course for Arus. Romelle manages to get a warning call out to the Castle of Lions about the Comet and of course Coran knows exactly the danger they face in the path of the comet.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-4 comment "Zarkon is angered that both Yurak and Haggar have failed in their attempts to bring back the escaped space explorers from Planet Arus. Haggar reassures Zarkon, that her robeast will be able to destroy the Voltron Force before they are able to find the missing key to the Black Lion. Pidge, slowly makes his way back to the Castle of Lions, where Coran and Princess Allura are worried that the five young men have just risked their lives in a failed attempt to bring back the legendary defender. On his return, Pidge makes his way back to the control room where Coran delivers the bad news. However, hope returns when Keith, Hunk, Lance and Sven recover from their ordeal and return to the castle. Still, the key to the Black Lion is still missing, so they make one last attempt to find it. Upon returning to King Alfor's tomb, they discover that there was a small mouse hole in the stone coffin. Pidge suggests that they capture the space mice he ran into earlier, in hopes of discovering the location of the missing key. They capture the four mice, and decide to question them about the whereabouts of the key they took. Allura however, interrupts them, asking them to let her friends go, revealing that the mice were the only creatures that gave her comfort in her years of being alone. On their suggestion, Allura questions her friends and learn that they took the key because they thought it was pretty. Making a deal, they release the mice, and they return with the key to the Black Lion. Just in time, the Voltron Force then launch to confront Haggar's robeast. The robeast puts up a great fight, and prevents them from forming Voltron, but on their second attempt, they are able to break free from the robeast attack and form the legendary defender. By forming the Blazing Sword, they are able to destroy the robeast. ".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-40 comment "After a brief recap of the previous episode, this one picks right up where it left off. Lotor has a fleet hitting Arus hard since he knows Voltron's not around to stop it. Meanwhile, Galaxy Garrison is angry Bandor left their main power supply unguarded and want him to return. But he just can't bring himself to leave the comet and Voltron.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-41 comment "This one starts off with Lotor, after giving Romelle one more chance to share the throne with him, tossing her into the Pit of Skulls on Doom. A voice tells Romelle not to be afraid right before she's thrown in, and indeed she is not alone.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-42 comment "After being alerted to more Doomite mischief, the Voltron Force fly their Lions to a distant sand planet to prevent its friendly creature inhabitants from becoming unwilling pawns in Haggar's plan to make hundreds of them into Robeasts.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-43 comment "Lotor once again is up to no good. First he conquers a new planet and dubs it Zarkonia. The people of Zarkonia are promptly enslaved and treated poorly, which Lotor hopes will draw Voltron...for he and Haggar have a little trap for their loathed arch enemy when he arrives.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-44 comment "This is yet another desert planet episode. Here, the people of Planet Yadle are joyous that they've been granted their independence and are preparing to welcome Voltron who is coming to help them celebrate. However, Zarkon is miffed these people think they're free and want the rebellion, as he sees it, crushed. Lotor figures he has the perfect way to put an end to all the madness - an exact duplicate of Voltron! It was built from stolen blue prints - the only visible difference is a touch Haggar added by darkening under his eyes. Lotor's plan is that when the people of Yadle welcome "Voltron" with open arms, they'll learn an unpleasant lesson".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-45 comment "Bandor gets a memo bearing some bad news - Zarkon and his cohorts are planning to fuel some 500 robeasts on a satellite called Nuklon. Something has to be done, and Sven and Romelle ( in a kickin' new 60's go-go girl outfit and cape - meow! ) elect to do the doing.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-46 comment "Cheesy and his mousy cohorts are training to become warriors - you know, one of the team! Oh brother. While out training with pans on their heads as pseudo-helmets, they run across Haggar's blue cat and run to tell the Voltron Force of that little presence of Doom. Amid the excitement, the team unveils the Mouse Plane for the rodents, which is a tiny robotic mouse for them all to pilot. Heck, they even get mini-uniforms not unlike the Voltron Force's own. Cute, in that gag-me saccharine kind of way.".

- hyakujuu-ou-golion-48 comment "The team are out practicing in the Lions and decide to race back to the Castle. As they go, Blue Lion flies over a mysterious stranger and just as she does so, her Lion goes haywire and she crashes. Depsite the fact that she called in her distress, the boys are clueless until they get back to the Castle and get chewed out by Coran and Nanny. Luckily, they heard her call and have tracked her to the surface of a moon. They witness the stranger help Princess out of her Lion, and quickly take a ship to go rescue her. Pidge seems to think the stranger is an OK guy, but Lance once again has his suspicions. The stranger is ready to humbly exit the scene but the team as well as Coran and Nanny want to thank him and know his name.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-49 comment "Leaving off from the previous episode, Voltron manages to blast off before the robeast could get a good swipe in but they're not out of the woods yet. They're back in the Robeast-cannon pickle but Keith has a plan. Holding the robeast in the way, Keith hopes Lotor shoots them booth. But when the blast hits the robeast, he orders the team to disengage so that it appears Voltron was also blown to pieces. Lotor indeed thinks he's triumphed. Garrett then calls Lotor from the Castle to remind him that he promised to send 10,000 clones to Arus for Garrett to rule. Lotor dismisses Garrett, thinking the clone has worn out his welcome now that he's defeated Voltron.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-5 comment "Defeated by the Voltron Force, King Zarkon grows wary of his charges continuous defeat against the mighty robot defender. Haggar suggests that they hold a contest between her robeast monsters to determine one that would go to Arus and battle against the Voltron Force. They hold a battle and one such monster suceeds against the other monsters. Haggar then turns him into a giant robot monster, and sends him with Yurak and his forces to Planet Arus. On Arus, the Voltron Force are seeking help among the citizens of Arus, hoping that they will be brave enough to come out of hiding. Though, the people are still afraid and refuse to come out of hiding. It is then that Yurak attacks Arus, so the Voltron Force launch their lion ships. Quickly they realize that this robeast monster is much stronger and faster than their previous encounter and quickly lose their advantage. While the monster confronts Voltron, Yurak takes the opportunity to attack the Castle of Lions directly. Allura and Coran flee to the underground tomb of her father, there his spirit reveals a secret. Allura presses a button in the crown of his tomb and suddenly, a new and improved castle emerges from the ruins of the old one. Princess Allura comes to the aid of the Voltron Force by taking up one of the gun cannons on the side of the new Castle. There she wards off Yurak's attack with direct hits to his ship, then focuses her attack on the robeast. This gives the Voltron Force their opening to attack the monster and then destroy him. ".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-50 comment "Lotor is still smarting over his defeat in the last episode, marveling at how such a perfect plan went so wrong (though in the flashback, Lotor got a lot of the details of the last two episodes entirely wrong). Then, armed Doomites show up to arrest the Prince on Zarkon's orders and he's brought before his father. Zarkon orders him, like all that fail in battle, to be punished by going to prison. Haggar, however, is worried that the planets Lotor had conquered would revolt if their conquerer was imprisoned. Instead, she suggests Zarkon invite them to Lotor's court martial so that they would pledge allegiance to Zarkon. So Lotor is locked up pending his court martial.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-51 comment "This one picks up where the last one left off, with Voltron flying toward Doom and Lotor preparing to launch his father who is a most unwilling robeast pilot. Lotor is pumping up the morale of his troops, while Romelle and her forces are ready to lend Voltron a hand. She and Sven are prepared to take out Haggar's laboratory, while Lotor has sent out his minions to try to stop her".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-52 comment "The last episode in season one finds the Lions trying to penetrate Castle Dooms defenses with a little help from Romelle's crew of rebels on the ground. Coran also decides it's time to lend a hand, so he flies the Castle of Lions to Doom to level the playing field.".
- hyakujuu-ou-golion-6 comment "With the new Castle of Lions and the return of Voltron, the citizens of Arus come out of their hiding places, comfortable to know that Voltron will protect them from the evil forces of King Zarkon. Princess Allura vows that the Voltron Force will protect her people and planet. In celebration of their new found freedom, she proposes a banquet. King Zarkon is not pleased that Planet Arus is slowly slipping away from his grasp. Haggar proposes a new plan, that in order to weaken Voltron, they need to do away with one of the Voltron Force members. Without all five of them, they would be unable to form the mighty robot. King Zarkon agrees, and the Witch Haggar goes to Arus, with one of her deadly robeasts. On Arus, the Voltron Force go with Princess Allura to pass out food to many of the destroyed villages, hoping they can bring more of the citizens out from hiding. Witch Haggar watches them closely, then tasks her Blue Cat to lure one of the members into her trap. Pidge is alerted by Cheezer that the Blue Cat is nearby. Lance and Sven then chase after the cat, where Lance falls into the Witch Haggar's trap. Sven rescues Lance from the trap, and battles Haggar alone. Unfortunately, Haggar's magic is enough to overcome Sven's abilities and he is then blindsided by her robeast monster, injuring him. Keith and Lance arrive too late, only to find Sven badly hurt. Keith suggest that they send him to Planet Ebb, where he can rest and recover from the attack. Now, one member short, the Voltron Force must deal with Haggar's monster without Voltron. They lure the giant beast to the edge of a cliff, overlooking a lava stream. Lance suggests that they attack the monster and force it into the firey stream. Lance volunteers to attack the robeast head on, since his Lion is homed in the lava pit that surrounds the Castle of Lions. Their plan works! They are able to defeat the robeast without Voltron and celebrate their victory. However, they do know that without Sven and the Blue Lion, Voltron will not be able to protect Arus from any further attacks from Yurak and King Zarkon. ".

- hyouka-1 comment "At the request of his older sister, Houtarou Oreki goes to join the Classic Literature Club upon entering high school to stop it from being disbanded. Upon arriving there, he meets another member, Eru Chitanda, who becomes curious as to how she got locked in the clubroom. After Houtarou's habit of thinking things through to the end helps him solve the mystery, Houtarou's classmate, Satoshi Fukube, also decides to join the club. The next day, the club investigates a mystery involving a recruitment poster for a secret club. As they leave that day, Houtarou reveals to Satoshi that he made the mystery up as it would've been too much effort to solve another mystery they had been discussing had Eru caught wind of it. ".
- hyouka-10 comment "Houtarou Oreki was invited by Fuyumi Irisu for some tea. At the restaurant, Fuyumi questions about the theories of here fellow three members of the movie production, whether their theories were correct or not. Houtarou tells her all of them were not good. She then calmly asks what were wrong, which was when Houtarou started to explain deeply. When finished, after hearing Houtarou's explanation, Fuyumi asks who rejected all of these theories. Houtarou answers that he did. Fuyumi talks about how he, when they first met, said not to expect much from him. Yet, he was the one to take down and burry all of the theories, which was up to Fuyumi's expectations indeed. She knew from the start that the three members who gave their theories were not of the right level, though she wouldn't say that they are each incompetent. Each of them have their own talent and this situation did not allow them to be of much use. Without Houtarou, she may have chosen one of the three's and possibly make a failure out of the movie. There was one person Fuyumi could only count on. She heard of this individual from three of her people: Eru Chitanda, a person not from the school, and Masashi Tougaito. She was convinced that this one person could be the detective for the film. It was Houtarou she was seeking from the start, not the Classics club. She realizes that he has great talent, and is a special person. After a short silence, Fuyumi asks for his help again, but Houtarou tells her that he doesn't have any such talent. He simply says he was lucky. Though Fuyumi thought to herself that this answer was irritating, she starts to talk about a small tale of a bench member of the Track team. This member practiced day after day to become a regular on the team, yet she wasn't able to since there were so many more talented members. There was even one member who was called a prodigy, and her skills compared to the bench member's skills was like that of heaven and earth. She even won a MVP medal for her invaluability to the team, and when interviewed about how she became this good, she simply answered "I was just lucky". Fuyumi asks Houtarou for his opinion on how hurt the bench member was upon hearing this comment. In some guilt, Houtarou stays silent as Fuyumi tells him that people has to relies hteir talents, or else others will think they are fools for trying. In Houtarou's mind, he wonders if he is special, if he's seeing himself for who he is. He wonders if he can trust her, but he comes to a certain realization. After giving a deep sigh, Houtarou gives his reply. The next day, Houtarou and Satoshi Fukube are on their way to school during a holiday. Satoshi sees it quite interesting that he is going there voluntarily, and wonders if Houtarou has some business to take care of. Houtarou tells him he does not a reason, but Satoshi sees it that it is out of his character to do this kind of activity. Houtarou tells him that Fuyumi told him to find out who is the murder in the movie, which Satoshi is amazed that's he's actually doing this. Houtarou makes the excuse that he himself is a passionate and honorable man, which is completelt different from his usual motto. Satoshi wonders if Eru converted Houtarou, but he replies that she didn't. ".
- hyouka-11 comment "Even Mayaka tells Houtarou how the movie was intriguing, she also tells him about the missing prop, which was the rope. Houtarou does remember it being mentioned, and makes an excuse that it could have been an unnecessary item. But Mayaka doesn't buy it, since it's a fact that story-writer Hongou wanted the ropes to be part of the story so badly. Houtarou becomes slightly dismayed by this truth, but Mayaka tries not to make things more complicated by saying that she liked his idea. Even so, she still thinks that all the clues didn't fit his solution. Houtarou agrees, and Mayaka heads to the Manga Society. As Houtarou walks out of the screening room, he wonders why he had forgotten this crucial element, whether if he subconsciously ignored or had changed the questions around to fit his answers. As he walk across the school bridge to the next school building, Houtarou doesn't notice that someone is calling from behind, as he is in deep thought. When the person who's behind him taps his shoulder, Houtarou surprisingly looks back, only to see Satoshi. Satoshi wonders what was wrong, but he ignors it and asked what he wanted from him. Satoshi has a question he wants to ask, while Houtarou takes note that it seems Satoshi doesn't want to talk about this around neither Mayaka or Eru. Satoshi go on to asking his question, asking whether or not the solution Hōtarō thought of was supposed to be Hongou's idea, or just Houtarou's own idea. When Houtarou answers that it was supposed to be Hongou's idea, Satoshi is disappointed. He knows very that the solution couldn't have been Hongou's intentional idea. Houtarou worries that there were some inconsistencies he had missed, but Satoshi says that there weren't, since he thinks the ending was true interesting. He then asks Houtarou what a "narrative trick" is. He answers that it is a story that tricks the reader with the way the story is presented, exactly like the solution Houtarou had thought of. Yet, Hongou, who had no background in the mystery genre, studied books of Sherlock Holmes only, and none of the Holmes mysteries ever use the narrative trick. The use of narrative tricks came during the age of Agatha Christie, which was in the 20th century, after the character Holmes was created. Satoshi does not feel that Hongou was someone who read Christie's mysteries. Because he liked the movie ending, Satoshi would have been happy if Houtarou admitted that the ending was his. But, since Houtarou claimed it was supposed to be Hongou's idea, Satoshi believes Houtarou is wrong. Houtarou attempts to make an excuse that Hongou may have read or watched some kind of mystery based book or movie, but Satoshi ignores this and tells him if he believes this excuse is "right", then he'll just go along with it. though seemingly disappointed, Satoshi takes his leave, since he has said what he wanted to say.".

Eru takes it up a notch and goes to a shrine to pray for a good luck at the festival. Houtarou gets ready to head for school at the front door, which is when his sister says good morning. She feels that he will face some trouble of the festival, which he does not believe. She reasons that it is a tradition that the Classics Club always faces some kind of trouble during the festival, which Houtarou doesn't like the sound of it. He tells Tomoe that if she is so worried about this "tradition", she should give him some kind of lucky charm. In quick response, she tosses something towards Houtarou. He attempts to catch it but fails. The item is a fountain pen, but as her sister then explains, it is out of ink and also has a broken tip. He attempts to complain to her about how he's being treated like a trash can, but Tomoe tells him that he'll be late if he doesn't leave now. As Houtarou leaves, Tomoe states that she might come to the festival if she's ever bored, which Houtarou doesn't want her to do. ".

With Satoshi, who is still wearing his Saturn outfit, participating in it, he utilizes his "database" to show who is the tru king of trivia. The first part is easy, where all the participants has to either stand one side of a given line, with one side meaning 'true', and the other 'false'. When one of the referees give a trivia, the participants takes their guess, and when the times up, the answer is revealed. Houtarou, Eru and Mayaka are all able to hear the event going from where they are stationed. Satoshi is able to make it to the final four, where the remaining four will be moved to a buzzer game instead of the true-false game. Before Satoshi goes up to his designated buzzered, one other participant calls to him. Satoshi recognize that this person is "Tani-kun" from the Go club. Before they can talk about something interesting that happened in the Go club, Satoshi has to go and introduce himself to the crowd. In this introduction, with the help of the distinguished Saturn outfit, he is able to advertise the Classics club by stating that he is represting this club. With the club being one unfamiliar to many, the crowd is drawn in by Satoshi's introduction. To make this advertisement more interesting, he tells the crowd that the club was able to unravel a great mystery of the Kanya Festival. When the announcer asks what this mystery is, all Satoshi answers is that it's a mystery of 45 years ago and if anyone is interested, they should purchase a copy of "Hyouka". After some fancy twirls, Satoshi feels fulfilled that he was able to advertise the anthology "Hyouka".".

However, Mayaka is forced to finish advertisements for the Manga club before she can go to the competition, forcing Eru and Satoshi to cover the first two parts of the competition. Satoshi does reasonably, and Eru does excellent, but Eru accidentally uses most of the allotted ingredients. When Mayaka arrives late to do her part of the competition, she finds that she does not have enough ingredients to make any dishes. However, Houtarou calls Satoshi over to give the team a bag of flour, which he received in a trade for an anthology sale. With the rules permitting outside ingredients to be brought in, this last ingredient allows Mayaka to cook a dish just in time. While Mayaka is cooking, however, she finds that the ladle at her station is missing. The Cooking Club give her another one, but Eru later discovers that a note is left at the station, signifying that the mysterious thief has struck again. ".
- hyouka-15 comment "The Classics Club come up with the idea to catch the "Juumonji" thief by using Houtarou's skills. Doing so will advertise the Classics Club even further. Houtarou quickly figures out that the clubs affected by the thefts have been in alphabetical order (according to Japanese hiragana alphabet). They also suspect that the items stolen also follow an alphabetical order. Finally, Houtarou tells the group to stop reading Juumonji as a name; doing so reveals that Juumonji actually stands for "ten letters". Following this order reveals that the Classics Club will be targeted next. ".
- hyouka-16 comment "Houtarou’s sister Tomoe visits the school culture festival, and after purchasing an anthology from her brother, trades her copy of Yube ni wa Mukuro ni for the mirror he had obtained earlier. When Eru sees the manga, she cannot help but notice the similarity of its art to one of the posters in the halls. Eru meets Mayaka afterwards, who confirms that the manga and poster’s artist are one and the same. Both curious as to who the artist is, they eventually learn that it is none other than the student council president – Kugayama Muneyoshi. The four Classics Club members meet back up briefly to discuss their findings, before Houtarou decides to speak with Satoshi privately about his new suspicions. Reviewing the previous events and facts, Houtarou further suggests that the current happenings, mimicking the events in Christie’s ABC murders, were actually announced in Yube ni wa Mukuro ni.".
- hyouka-17 comment "After Eru’s successful radio advertisement, several members of the student body gather at the Classics clubroom. In shocking fashion, however, Juumyonji seems to outdo even the brilliant Classics Club. This isn’t fully detrimental to the club, however, as most all of the anthologies are sold during the exciting event. Mayaka meets Satoshi sometime afterwards, guessing that he wanted to beat Houtarou. While this isn’t quite the case, this leads Satoshi to remember what he had witnessed earlier. Houtarou had actually found out the identity of Juumyonji.".
- hyouka-18 comment "Houtarou, to the Classic Literature Club's surprise and concern, becomes interested in his past teacher's changed feeling towards helicopters and his apparent survival of three lightning strikes. Eru is curious about Houtarou's interest and tags along with him to do some research at the city library. Houtarou remembers his sister telling him that the weather across the mountains is quite different from that of the city, meaning that the lightning story is plausible, though unlikely. He then confirms through newspaper articles that his teacher often climbed the mountains and was present during a storm-involved incident, in which the rescue helicopters were unable to come for him. He concludes that his teacher was concerned about the weather over the mountains, and whether the helicopter could make its way through. Houtarou then says that people must be considerate around people like him. Eru is stunned by what Houtarou had said, but is unable to put her feelings into words. The mystery solved, Eru returns home. Houtarou thinks about how Eru inconvenienced herself to help him out of her free will, and says to himself that he owes her for that. ".
