He helped 18 escape from Imperfect Cell, and watched the Cell Games after she was absorbed, vowing to stop Cell. His body is destroyed by Perfect Cell, however, his head survives, and requests that Mr. Satan throw him over to the fight, to help Gohan control himself. The last time we see #17 in DBZ is when he is in the woods donating energy for Goku's Genki-Dama.
