Bartolomeo has been shown to get easily excited when he sees the people he idolizes as when he saw Zoro, he burst into tears out of joy. It has been revealed that he only entered the tournament in order to give Luffy the Mera Mera no Mi. Both seasons of the anime, like the movies, hint at some romantic tension between the two, particularly near the end of each Gig. This tension is touched upon, briefly, in the Solid State Society movie, where Batou admits that he's been covering up any of the Major's appearances in cases prior to the Puppet Master case. Batou had served in a military special forces team before entering Section 9. Most of his body is comprised of cybernetic prosthetics. Despite the fact that exercise will do his cybernetic body parts no benefits, Batou lifts weights as a hobby. - battikaroa comment "Battikaroa is a giant Hollow made of sand, similar to Runuganga. Battikaroa has a large, bluish-grey body that is made from sand, similar to Runuganga. He has a series of upward-curving spikes around the base of his neck as well as a number of protrusions around his head. His arms are long, with the forearms being much thicker than his upper arms. His Hollow hole is in the center of his chest. Battikaroa has markings on his abdomen and wears a low-slung cloth around his waist. He also wears plain bracelets on both wrists and on his upper arms. He battles against Renji Abarai and Yasutora Sado while they are fighting hordes of Hollows below the fifth tower in Las Noches. At the beginning of the battle, Renji tries to attack the midsection of Battikaroa. This does not work as his sword is almost swallowed by the Hollow. Sado saves Renji's sword by helping to pull it out. Eventually, Sado tries to use La Muerte on the Hollow, which is able to cause a crack up that runs up to a location right below the mask, but the Hollow hits Sado off before it cracks the mask. Eventually, they figure out that Battikaroa has one weakness; his head. After numerous failed attempts at breaking the mask, Sado attacks with his La Muerte technique, which hits Battikaroa's bottom. This is further reflected in his play style, given the tag-out effects of the "Gladiator Beasts". BB seems to struggle dealing with constant pressure and threats from Sanders and dislikes taking orders from him. Six years prior, Battler confessed to Shannon that he will take her away from the island and save her. Soon after Beatrice's death in the fifth game, Battler is banished from the Game Board after he fails to provide a counter to Erika's theory on the culprit's identity. It is in this pitiful state and limbo where Battler finally solves the mysteries of Rokkenjima and reaches the center of all truths. He returns to Game Board immediately after, and with the help of Beatrice's furniture, he successfully forms his own theory and destroys Erika's. Battler is than named the "Endless & Golden Sorcerer" by Lambdadelta and gains all of Beatrice's power as well as the position of Game Master for the sixth game against Bernkastel.
