It was during this time that she heard of a valuable treasure, held by a young native american woman, sought by Heihachi Mishima, the wealthy head of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Kunimitsu vowed to steal the treasure for herself, and entering the first King of Iron Fist Tournament provided the perfect opportunity to do so. However, upon confronting Michelle Chang, the pendants owner, Kunimitsu was defeated in battle. Humiliated, she retreated to her former home to stay with her grandfather. During this time, she learned from her grandfather that the sword held by Yoshimitsu (also called Yoshimitsu) was a priceless artifact, handed down through generations of Manji, and that, despite a lifetime of effort, he had been unsuccessful in forging a replica. Determined to steal the sword for her grandfather, Kunimitsu enters the second King of Iron Fist Tournament to face her former leader. When she confronts Yoshimitsu, Kunimitsu is once again defeated in battle. Kunimitsu's fate after the second tournament is unknown - it has been speculated that she was killed either by Yoshimitsu during the second tournament or Ogre prior to the third tournament, although she may still be alive and has simply turned her back on the tournament after two unsuccessful attempts at earning the Iron Fist title. Kunimitsu is a very enigmatic character, speaking few words and revealing little of her personality. However, it can be deduced from her actions when she part of the Manji Clan that she is a cold, selfish person with a greed for riches and valuables. Despite this, Kunimitsu does not seem to be completely heartless, as she seems to have a fondness for her grandfather who, in turn, was welcoming to her after she returned from her time spent with the Manji Clan. Tezuka is the character who encourages the series' protagonist, Ryoma Echizen, to develop his own style of tennis, leading the latter to consider him to be both a mentor and a rival. The tournament champion, Seiichi Yukimura, challenged Tezuka to a match, but the winner is not revealed. After entering Seishun Academy, Tezuka was seen as overconfident and arrogant by the upperclassmen at Seigaku due to his talents and seriousness, especially when they discovered that he was left-handed even though he played with his right. A jealous teammate then injured Tezuka's left arm, leading to chronic problems, and his sealing of Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami, a technique which required the use of his left arm. Still, because of his skills, he was recognized by captain Yudai Yamato, who convinced Tezuka, who had decided to leave the club because he did not want to be on the same team as people who hurt others with their racquets, to become Seigaku's "pillar of support". This, along with the promise he made with teammate Shuichiro Oishi, in which Tezuka promised to lead Seigaku to the Nationals, encouraged him to stay in the tennis club. Shusuke Fuji later requested a match against Tezuka, and though Tezuka was defeated, Fuji was displeased with the outcome after finding out about Tezuka's injury. The two promise to play each other once again after Tezuka's arm completely heals. After a while, Tezuka became a team regular despite being a freshman. By his second year, he became the team's vice-captain, and defeated Hyotei Academy's captain in the Tokyo Prefectural Tournament. He was invited to the Junior Senbatsu tennis training camp, but because his arm problems returned, he declined the invitation without stating his reasons to the organization. The first serious official tournament match he plays is against Hyotei's captain, Keigo Atobe. Though the return of Tezuka's arm injury causes him to collapse in pain, he refuses to give up, and after a long and tedious tie-break, the game ends with Atobe victorious, marking Tezuka's first loss in an official singles match. Tezuka then decides to go to Kyushu in order to receive medical treatment for his injuries at a health clinic near Seishun University. While Tezuka overcomes his fear of feeling the pain in his shoulder, he continues to support his team, sometimes discussing the team's lineup for upcoming matches over the phone. In the National semi-finals, despite it being a doubles match, Tezuka plays one-on-one against Shitenhoji's Senri Chitose; their partners step aside in order for them to play with their full power. After unveiling his new Zero-Shiki Serve, as well as revealing that he has opened Saiki Kanpatsu no Kiwami, Tezuka wins. Before the final match of tournament against Rikkai Junior High School, Tezuka tells Oishi that he plans to go to Germany in order to become a professional tennis player after this tournament. During his match against Genichiro Sanada, Tezuka unveils his Tezuka Phantom, however, this, combined with the continuous use of the Zero-Shiki Serve, damages Tezuka's arm, creating a weakness which Sanada soon uses to his advantage. A cord ball by Tezuka which drops from the net to his side, results in Sanada's victory. However, in the end, after Ryoma's win against Rikkai's captain Seiichi Yukimura, Tezuka finally achieves his goal of turning Seishun Academy into the National champions, and smiles for the first time. Some time later, Tezuka, along with the rest of the Seigaku regulars as well as several other middle schoolers, were invited to the Under-17 Training Camp, where he, along with his fellow middle schoolers, were placed in a tie-breaker style elimination match that the middle schoolers thought of pairing up for doubles. As per Queen Beryl's orders, Kunzite attacked the Sailor Senshi at the Tokyo Tower and defeated them swiftly. Her heart broken by his sacrifice, she regained her memories as the Moon Princess and the Ginzuishou appeared, the light washing over everyone including Kunzite. In this moment he too regained his memories of the past and was torn between his loyalty to Beryl and Endymion. He witnessed the brief rebirth of his fellow Shitennou but they quickly decomposed into their mineral forms again. Beryl then ordered Kunzite to capture the Princess and her Silver Crystal. Confused by his emotions and newfound memories Kunzite instead takes Mamoru with him back to the Dark Kingdom. Upon questioning Beryl about the Shitennou and Endymion, she tells him that they cannot be revived now that their bodies have turned to stone. Also, upon hearing Kunzite call Mamoru by his true name, Endymion, she ramps up her brainwashing and implants a shard of kunzite crystal into his forehead. This leaves Kunzite little more than a zombie. In a blind rage Kunzite again attacks the Senshi, singling out Sailor Moon and attempting to wrestle the Ginzuishou away from her. They fly up into the atmosphere where they battle ferociously but in the end Kunzite is defeated by a Sailor Planet Attack, leaving only the piece of kunzite stone behind. In the final battle against Queen Metaria it was Kunzite who traversed the dimensions and appeared to Mamoru to inform him that the creature's weakness lay in a point on its forehead, which he and Usagi managed to exploit and end the demon queen's plans of conquest for good. In the anime, Kunzite was first shown with Zoisite plotting against the second king, Nephrite. The two were quite obviously lovers and Zoisite would cling to Kunzite for support and guidance. Together they managed to collect all seven of the Rainbow Crystals but just when things were looking up for the Dark Kingdom, Zoisite made a grave mistake and attacked Tuxedo Mask with an ice crystal. This cost him his life and revealed Sailor Moon as the Moon Princess, also awakening the power of the Ginzuishou. Zoisite was killed for his disobedience and Kunzite fell into a depression, though his loyalty to Queen Beryl did not waver in the slightest. He took the injured Mamoru back to the Dark Kingdom as per Beryl's instructions and he was transformed into an agent of the Dark Kingdom. Kunzite greatly resented being forced to work with Endymion but nevertheless carried out his assignments out of obedience. He grew increasingly suspicious of Endymion because he would foil Kunzite's plans and continue to, in a somewhat macabre way, protect Sailor Moon and the senshi, believing that innocent humans need not be harmed in the process of achieving their goals. Beryl herself began to doubt Endymion's loyalty and gave Kunzite the task of keeping tabs on Endymion. After many defeats Endymion was cured of Beryl's brainwashing, albeit temporarily, then whisked away to the Dark Kingdom again. The Senshi resolved to find the entrance to the Dark Kingdom, recover Mamoru, and end the threat once and for all. Kunzite met them in battle at the D Point during which the Senshi's past memories of the Moon Kingdom were restored. Kunzite lashed out with an energy boomerang attack that took out all the senshi except for Sailor Moon. In a last defiant effort Kunzite attacked her but the projectile was deflected back at him and pierced him. He died crying out to Zoisite, begging his love to meet him on the other side.".

Kurapika sets two conditions and if the victim violates either one, the chain crushes the heart, killing them. It can only be used while Kurapika's eyes are scarlet. Kurapika himself has a blade wrapped around his heart, which he used to set the conditions of use for his Chain Jail ability. Emperor Time (絶対時間 エンペラータイムAbsolute Mastery): Type Specialization When Kurapika's eyes shift into scarlet, he changes from a Conjurer to a Specialist. This ability allows him to utilize all the types of Nen to 100% efficiency (for a Conjurer). In the manga, Kurapika explains this using the terms "Level" and "Force/Accuracy". Kurapika's "Levels" in the various Nen categories remain the same during Emperor Time, however, his Force and Accuracy for every category is raised to 100%. Thus, if Kurapika's Level in Conjuration were 10, his Level in Emission (the polar opposite aura type) would be 4, and during Emperor Time, he would be evenly matched against a Level 4 Emitter at 100%.
