He is the grandson of Fairy Tail's master, Makarov Dreyar, and son of Ivan Dreyar. Laxus is a master of Lightning magic. It allows him to produce, control and manipulate lightning and electricity at his will. Through its use, Laxus can not only generate lightning from his body, but also make it appear from almost anywhere to strike his opponents, taking them by surprise. By generating electricity on different parts of his body, he’s capable of making his attacks in melee deadlier, and of propelling himself around to gain extra momentum. The bright light from his lightning can be also used to momentarily blind enemies. In addition, much like other Elemental types of Magic, Lightning Magic allows Laxus to turn his own body into lightning, in order to evade enemy attacks, move around at high speed and strike every opponent crossing his path. Lightning dragon's lacrima was implanted into his body when he was young by Ivan Dreyar. Hence, he possesses lightning dragonslayer magic and can also change his skin into dragon scales and use some exclusive dragonslayer attacks like lightning dragon's roar. His eye color is different in the manga and the anime. In the manga, it is orange/dark yellow, while the anime portrays it as greenish blue.".

She is a stubborn character and plays an antagonist-like role in the beginning of the story, but like many of the other characters, she befriends Sora. Layla is the daughter of Mr. Hamilton, a wealthy hotel chain owner; he would prefer Layla to be an actress and is frequently trying to push her into doing so. Layla eventually stands up to her father and rejoins the circus; she loves the Kaleido Stage because she clearly remembers how her deceased mother enjoyed going there. At the end of the first season, after attempting the great Mystical Act and seriously injuring her shoulder Layla gives up the circus and retires to Broadway. Though in the second season she comes back to stage to challenge Sora for the Angel's Act for the production Swan Lake and at the end returns to Off Broadway. Somewhere on season 1, someone performs to be a "Mystery Star", but can you guess who?".

- layla-serizawa comment "Birthdate: November 1, 1978 Although her name is often transliterated as "Reira", her actual name is "Layla", after Eric Clapton's famous song of the same name. She is half-American, half-Japanese, and is the lead singer of Trapnest. She also penned some of their songs. Layla's friendship with her band comes all the way back to her elementary school days, starting with Takumi Ichinose. The two met when Layla and her mother moved to Japan. Often criticized by the neighborhood because of her then-vague understanding of the Japanese language, Takumi was asked to befriend her. The two stuck together throughout their childhood, mostly teaching each other about their first language - Reira learned more about Japanese, while Takumi learned more about English. Layla always showed an interest in singing at a young age, seen through her rendition of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time". During one of the first times she's shown singing this, she tells Takumi she loves him and gives a rather unexpected kiss. As this prompts him to be (not unexpectedly) put-off, Layla explains, though not very convincingly, that she often kissed (or was kissed by) anyone she respected or admired back in America, such as her parents or teacher. After being told that it's usually only reserved for "adults in love", Takumi reluctantly tells her it's fine if she does that, or holds hands with him, as long as it's only when they are alone. Their friendship remains a close one until the beginning of middle/junior high school, when Layla (again) kisses him after he calls her cute, just like any other day. This time, however, he admits to her that they're getting older and she should only do those things with a boyfriend. Layla doesn't hesitate to ask him to take that place, but Takumi, somewhat unwittingly, rejects her coldly, saying he already has a girl of his own. Takumi begins to tell Layla it shouldn't be hard for her to find a nice boy herself, but by then she's gone from the room. In between junior high and high school, she befriends both Naoki Fujieda and Yasushi Takagi, the latter of which was then in the band Brute with Ren Honjo. Layla became frustrated with Takumi only seeing their relationship as that of a brother and sister, or in her eyes, being nothing more than Takumi's "caged songbird". At one point in time, she even asks him what she is to him, but he doesn't respond. To deal with her unrequited feelings, she begins to date Yasu. Their relationship doesn't last, but it was a nice distraction from the pain. Within Trapnest, she has at times been seen 'expressing' interest in both Takumi and Ren, drawing the ire of Nana Osaki. To make matters worse, the tabloid magazine, SEARCH mailed to Nana photographs of Ren and Layla together, though the shots were simply of an innocent trip the two took to their hometown. To stop the magazine from publishing the photos, Takumi decided to reveal his relationship with Hachi, who initially was suspicious of Layla as well. Around the time when her band was at its most popular, Layla decided to visit a nightclub in an attempt to pick up an escort for the night. In doing this, she meets and provokes the attention of Shinichi Okazaki, Blast's bassist. After spending a night with him, she continues their meetings. The two eventually decide (at first through Layla's wishes) that the relationship is more than that of a prostitute and client, and Shin requests she no longer pays him to stay the night. Eventually, Takumi catches onto their situation. Knowing that the teen was underage, and also that Layla could possibly ruin her career, Takumi warned both parties to think of the possible consequences. Layla initially brushed off his idea, later realizing how potentially dangerous their meetings were, thanks to the media's recent capture of Layla and Ren together. She reluctantly breaks it off with Shin, only to regret it and beg for forgiveness, possibly repairing their relationship. Shin, however, still a bit scared of Takumi's warning and not wanting to sully her reputation, refused. The two have yet to get back together. In current chapters, Layla has given valentines chocolates to Takumi and tells him she is "tired of forcing herself" through tears. Takumi states that she is more important to him than anyone, and inquiries whether she's sure that she only wants to become one of his many lovers, knowing that they couldn't have a relationship. She accepts and they kiss passionately, but are soon interrupted. Takumi flees the scene quickly, but not without catching the eye of Ren, who wanders back into the room to check on Layla. They are last seen walking out together, Layla wiping her eyes. Takumi however becomes unsettled about Layla and himself, and its unclear if their relationship continues in the future.".

In Volume 11, she changed her dress to a Japanese school girl uniform consisting of a grey blazer with blue plaid accents over a white dress shirt with a black tie, a black skirt, and black shoes while retaining her trademark hat and cape. Le Fay is a happy and outgoing young woman. She is also shown to be very polite, addressing everyone, enemy or friend, with the honorific "sama". Le Fay was previously part of the Magician Association, "Golden Dawn" where she acquired all her spells, including forbidden ones. She then joined the Khaos Brigade at some point before the start of the series, probably around the same time her brother joined. She appears in Volume 9, summoning Gogmagog to annihilate the monsters created by Annihilation Maker under Vali's command. She was also responsible for luring the original Sun Wukong to Kyoto to assist Issei and his friends. She reappears in Volume 11 alongside Kuroka and Fenrir as Ophis' bodyguard who went to the Hyoudou Residence. When the team is attacked by Cao Cao and Georg, she and Kuroka activate a magic circle to switch Vali and Fenrir's position, allowing Vali to appear and fight Cao Cao. Despite these attempts, both teams still lost against Cao Cao and Georg. She later gives the Excalibur Ruler to Irina Shidou for repairing the Ex-Durandal, creating a transportation magic circle and taking Xenovia and Irina with her. At the beginning of Volume 12, she is seen hiding in the Gremory Palace with all her Vali Team teammates while waiting for their leader to recover. She is later seen in the Realm of the Dead, attacking the Grim Reapers under Hades. She, along with Kuroka, later move into the Hyoudou Residence in Volume 14 as semi-permanent residents, apologizing to the house owners every time Kuroka made a mess out of it. After Issei approached her and Kuroka while they were reading a book, Issei asked her if she could teach him about magic/demonic powers and how to make more use of his demonic powers, as well as how to increase it. Akira and Kyouko catch sight of her practising for her performance and are enraptured at the girl's innocent and honest potrayal of her character; the older girls ironically observe that the Prince's dialogue in the play has a deeper meaning to them as teenagers. She presumably gets stage fright on the day of the drama festival, and is found by her lonesome around the grounds of Fujigaya by Sugimoto Yasuko. Yasuko stops the younger girl from crying and comforts her. Le Petit Prince cheers up and listens with great interest as Yasuko tries to explain the character of Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights who she is slated to portray.
