First, the Masaki clan had ran a bar on a resort planet to get needed money. Nagi had walked into the bar to get a drink, but stormed out when she got the overpriced bill. When the Masakis had to leave the bar in a hurry, Nagi was on their tail, but was impeded by G.P. cruisers. At another time, Nagi entered a bathing-suit contest just to spite RyÅ�ko and won, only to have RyÅ�ko steal the prize money. However, the last time they met, Nagi helped out her old rival when Tenchi, along with the knights Azaka and Kamidake, went to Jurai to rescue Ayeka, who had been kidnapped by the false emperor Kagato. The main reason why she chose to help the group was that she didn't want anyone else to take RyÅ�ko's life. Nagi even passed up a chance to fight RyÅ�ko, as RyÅ�ko was badly injured from her previous fight against Kagato, and Nagi preferred not to take advantage of a wounded opponent. At the end of the series, she and Ken-Ohki were still searching for RyÅ�ko, who had disappeared after the battle. Though she has protected RyÅ�ko and wished for her safety, Nagi professes that they're not friends, and that she hunts her only to settle their unfinished business. Unlike RyÅ�ko, Nagi does not have any superhuman abilities. This complex has driven her to follow in his footsteps in order to get him to notice her and to also stop her brother's own fixation on Kousei. In the later parts of the anime, Nagi warms up to Kousei, comforting and trying to make him smile while he was upset. Nagi holds deep respect for Kousei and admires him for his piano playing skills. Though it is not stated if she holds affection for him. Nagi already has exceptional skills in piano before she became Kousei's apprentice. When Seto-san asked her to demonstrate her skill, she easily performed Etude Op. 25 No. 5, the same piece Kousei played at the Maihou Competition. During her lessons with Kousei, she blames her small hands for not being able to play in the right tempo or dynamic. Her skills improves drastically after being tutored by Kousei and can even keep up with his playing during her school festival performance. Unlike most musicians in the story, Nagi doesn't perform for 'glory or perfection' but for obligation to become closer to her brother. When she was younger, she saw her elder brother as some sort of hero. They often played together and had a close relationship, but Takeshi started to fix on Kousei Arima. Because of that, he started to practice hard and the strong bond between the two became thinner over the years. When Sergay starts his dark plan to kill Mashiro-boy, he traps both Nagi and Mashiro in Garderobe's basement, where he reveals that he plans to kill Mashiro-boy and use the real mashiro princess, who wasn't really dead, as his puppet to rule the kingdom. When Mashiro is attacked, his clothes are ripped and Nagi discovers that his love is actually a boy, however he gives Mashiro his own jacket and says that, for him, it doesn't matter if Mashiro is a boy or a girl, he still loves him. Short after, Sergay kills Nagi and rushes to start a war in the kingdom, while Mashiro, wearing Nagi's jacket, declares that he will stops him. One of the last scenes of the manga shows Nagi and the real princess Mashiro in heaven watching Mashiro-boy and the other otomes having fun. ".
